Create a legacy template without shortcodes

    Hey,
    is there a possibility to create a legacy template, without creating a shortcode for every bit of code?
    I would like to customize different parts of the recipe output.
    For example, I want to reorder the ingredients listing (eg. notes, amount, unit).

    I highly recommend against this. Making use of the shortcodes ensures that any new feature/improvement/fix we add also works for your custom template.

    Could you clarify what you’re trying to achieve exactly? What are you using the notes for that requires a “notes, amount, unit” order?
