create an external link on a drop down in primary menu

    How do I create an external link on a drop down in primary menu? On the Webinars tab I want to add ‘Previous Webinars’ as an external link. Right now clicking on Webinars goes to a page on which one can click to go to Previous webinars, yet I find it confusing to also have ‘Upcoming Webinars’ in a dropdown. So maybe, I just need to figure out how to remove ‘Upcoming Webinars’ from the dropdown and one just clicks on ‘Webinars’.

    Yes, it has been a while since I have worked in WordPress. Can you tell? 😉 Thank you for whatever advice you may provide me.

    You are apparently using a classic menu. You can manage this in the backend under Appearance > Menus. See: https://ww.wp.xz.cn/documentation/article/appearance-menus-screen/

    To insert an external link there, you can select “Custom Links” on the left-hand side and enter the link destination. Add this and move the box to the place in the menu where you want the link to appear. Don’t forget to save at the bottom.

    Thank you! I did not get an email stating I had a reply, hence the delay in responding. I may just want to go to the page that has an internal & external link. So, how do I remove ‘Upcoming Webinars’ from the dropdown so that one just clicks on ‘Webinars’ to go to the page? Right now, ‘Upcoming Webinars’ has Webinars as the parent.

    Go to Appearance > Menus in the backend as described above, open the main menu there if it is not already displayed, and search for “Upcoming Webinars” in the list of menu items. Delete this entry. Then click Save at the bottom of the page. Done!
