I’m a web designer and I am new to WP. I am liturate in HTML, CSS, and JS but I would like to use WP for it’s easy PHP integration, SEO features, and pluggins. I am currently trying to create a NON BLOG SITE, but I would rather not use a theme if that is at all possible. And honestly, just navigating the WP control panel is kind of unintuitive for me. I have read several articles on creating custom themes, but I’m not sure if that’s the route I want to take. Is there a way to create an HTML/CSS/JS website and incorporate WP features in after?

Thanks for the response! I read that prior to posting, but I was actually hoping that there was a way to avoid themes all together. I’d imagine that that would probably be “wishfull thinking” though, right?

Try giving this a read too.

The first snippet on that page contains these lines:
```
/* Short and sweet */
define('WP_USE_THEMES', false);
require('./wp-blog-header.php');
?>
```
See that define('WP_USE_THEMES', false); line? The false does what you think it does.

Now go out there and convert your site to WordPress with a theme!

Or not 😉 but once you get the basics of the loop, you’ll see that a theme isn’t that hard to do.
