Create Hyperlink from an image to external website!

    Ok, this is very simple. I am webmaster. I know how to add the anchor tag to the HTML and XHTML code of an image on a page or post in a WordPress Blog or CMS website.

    The question is this. I teach people how to create and update their own pages and posts in WordPress. They might not be so good even at cutting and pasting the XHTML code even if I give it to them.

    Is there an easy and automatic way to add a hyperlink to an image on a WordPress page?

    When you click on an image to add “alt” tag information, etc. You can click on the Advanced Settings tab, then at the bottom of the “pop up” window, there is an Advanced Link Settings section with a subsection: “Link Rel” What is that for? I was thinking you could use that to link image to an external link, but it doesn’t seem to do that?

    Thanks for whatever help you can offer on this? Maybe there’s a plug in or something?

    Hi,

    When I add an image to a post in the Flash uploader, then I (and you) have right after the uploading the choice for the link, just above the size button’s.
    You can paste any link there as long as it starts with http://

    Offcourse then if you choose thumbnail, you won’t be able to click on the image in the browser to open a bigger size image; instead the click will use your http:// link

    You can use the link button in the Visual or Code bar copy, link insert URL and voila!

    Thanks for trying to help. I use the uploader in the dashboard. I don’t know if it’s the Flash uploader you are talking about, but I don’t know what you are talking about.

    Anyway, my pics are already uploaded. Any way to add links to them now?
