Hello @veit76,
The error 500 is generic error and could mean many things such as some process getting killed by the server or a conflict with another plugin, most likely another caching plugin.
If you are a SiteGround customer please open a HelpDesk request through your SiteGround Client Area and we will review the case in details.
Should you use the plugin in an external hosting provider you can contact their support for assistance on the matter. The php_errorlog in the application document root and the server error logs could help with diagnosing the cause.
Best regards,

Well, I installed your Plugin for the first time. I guess I won’t become a paying customer after this experience. I’ve meanwhile contacted my hosting provider, but they could not find the problem yet. Even after deactivating this plugin and several others via FTP the problem remains. The website is down.

@veit76,
The cause of the 500 errors you’ve encountered remains uncertain, and without the ability to examine the issue directly, we’re unable to verify whether the plugin is at fault.
If the plugin is the culprit, disabling it should resolve any issues it may have caused.
Should you pinpoint the precise cause of the problem and its relation to our plugin, please provide an update in this thread so we can investigate further.
Best regards,
