Has anyone ever used the Form Field Manager’s checkbox text fields to calculate a custom donation amount? I am looking for a way to use the checkbox field to calculate a custom donation amount, for example, let’s say you have 3 checkboxes; “Checkbox 1 $100”, “Checkbox 2 $200”, and “Checkbox 3 $300” and a donor checks checkbox 1 and checkbox 3, the sum would be $400. That amount needs to be passed to the Custom Amount field. I assume you would assign a variable to each checkbox and then sum the variables using .PHP or .JS, but I am not sure. I was wondering if anyone has done this in the past that could offer some guidance. Any Feedback would be greatly appreciated. Thanks

  • Hi @osheaw2,
Glad you reached out. This isn’t something that is available, but it is a great feature request idea, so I created that here: https://feedback.givewp.com/feature-requests/p/option-to-build-a-donation-or-care-package

At the moment the closest you could probably come is using the Funds and Designations add-on. I’m not able to provide support for that here, but if you are interested in learning about options like this, you can reach out to us at givewp.com/contact-us/ and we’ll be happy to answer any questions you have.

I’m marking this as resolved for now, but if you have any questions you can send them along here and I’ll be happy to give things a look!
