Creating Posts w/ a Link

I have a membership site that runs WP + IP.Board for the forums.

My members want to be able to post personal statements and have others leave comments.

I was thinking about having them create a post in WordPress that they can just click a hyperlink that takes them directly to the post editor. I want to be a very stripped down version of the post editor, with only one option for category and easy for them.

Any WP Developer that think this is possible?

Does this make sense – or am I thinking too large? Should I just set up a separate sub-forum and let users post there? I was just thinking of something different.

My original plan was looking at draftin.com, but that doesn’t work well for this. I also looked at Google Drive, but that seems a little wonky as well. I’m looking for a solution to use on my site.
