I called my server who informed me I was set up thru Windows instead of Linux. She switched me over and said it should all be working tomorrow! Wish me luck!
Hi there, not sure from what you’ve said how you are editing your config.php file.
The easiest way is simply in a text editor like notepad.
hope it goes well for you.
mike.
WordPress has a rarely used feature where, if you fail to create a wp-config file manually, then it will attempt to guide you through creating it when you first visit the site. It uses the wp-config-sample.php as a template for this sort of thing.
Of course, this wholly depends on your server allowing the thing to create a new file and write to it, which, for security reasons, it should not be. But still, it’s there for those people who don’t fully read the installation instructions.
Thats what I love on this forum. I learn something everyday.
I’d never thought that a feature like that was there.
Clever old developers 🙂
Still I hope organicsis gets up and running.
mike.
Thanks guys. I called my server who informed me I was setup with Windows instead of Linus(or something like that?) which isn’t compatible with WP. She switched it for me and I got it working.
