    Hello,

I had another issue with Critical CSS, this one much more serious. It crashed my site. Here’s the message I got from WordPress: “An error of type E_ERROR was caused in line 127 of the file /home/*/public_html/wp-content/plugins/autoptimize/classes/autoptimizeCriticalCSSBase.php. Error message: Allowed memory size of 41943040 bytes exhausted (tried to allocate 20480 bytes)”

I’ve contacted my server about increasing my PHP memory, but I’d really like to avoid ever having this issue again — is there anything else I can do to prevent it, short of disabling Critical CSS/Autoptimize altogether?

I should add that before the site crashed, I was getting a lot of “white screen of death” issues.

memory issues are like straws breaking the camel’s back; the issue is not with the last straw, but with the fact there are a lot of straws. disabling a plugin/ functionality (e.g. CCSS or another) can help, but the fact remains there’s a lot of straws there 😉
