critical error

Hi all – Just recently the QSM plugin has started giving us a critical error message on our site. We’ve had to disable it. Can anyone please let us know what we should do to get it working again?

When did you first encounter this error message? Monday, January 6
– Have you updated the QSM plugin to its latest version, 9.2.4? I don’t know. I couldn’t get into the Plug-ins screen to see any of them. Version 9.2.4 is what currently shows when I look at the Plug-ins list now.
– Did the issue begin after updating to the latest version? See response above.
– Is the critical error displayed on the backend of your site or within a quiz you have created? Back end
– If the error is related to a specific quiz, could you please share the URL of the quiz where the issue occurs? There is a current quiz set-up, but we can no longer see the quiz. It was posted on December 4, 2024; see this link: To Use AI or To Not Use AI…for Manuscript Development? | the Map. All that shows on the URL now is the shortcode, not the quiz text. I was able to see the quiz and responses after it was posted. I don’t have the plug-ins installed/activated to see the quiz and responses now. I’m concerned about losing the already logged-in responses to this quiz.

Upon reviewing your details from January 6th, I wanted to check if any themes or plugins were updated either on or before that date. It is possible that the updates may have caused a conflict between the plugins and themes, resulting in the critical error message you are encountering.
I also want to thank you for pointing me to the location of the quiz. Upon reviewing the URL, I noticed that only shortcode numbers are currently displayed. To replicate and better understand the issue from our end, I kindly request you to share the error log files. You can find the error logs within the “Files” section of your hosting panel.
Specifically, please review and share the error logs from January 6th, as this will allow us to investigate further. Once we have those logs, we can escalate the matter to our development team for a detailed review and ensure a swift resolution.
Regarding the responses of users who have already attempted the quiz, rest assured that their results and progress will remain intact once the issue is resolved.

Navigate to Dashboard > Updates and verify that your WordPress installation is running the latest version, as outdated versions can cause compatibility issues with plugins. - Check for Conflicting Plugins
The error references/plugins/hello.php, suggesting that another plugin—possibly “Hello Dolly” or a custom one—might be causing conflicts.- Temporarily deactivate all plugins except QSM.
- Reactivate them one by one to identify the conflicting plugin.

DhanushBelow is the sceen that came up when I attempted to activate the “Quiz and Survey Master” plug-in, with a “fatal error” message. I can now not log into the WordPress Admin portal, as this fatal error message now appears immediately at log in.
