Whenever I activate the ‘Topic Form Additional Fields’ it gives my site a critical error when I create/edit a forum post or reply.

I’ve spent hours troubleshooting this, disabling plugins, trying different themes etc., and no emails are received with any information on the critical error. It’s only now I’ve discovered it’s that particular setting that’s causing the issue.

thanks and apologies that you are getting the error. I cannot immediately replicate, and it is probably a combination of settings.

The error email you should be getting is from the WordPress part of the code, and my plugin is ot stopping that. You should get error emails working as they are important to your site.

so I would suggest you install

https://en-gb.ww.wp.xz.cn/plugins/check-email

and once activated go to dashboard>check and log email, and use the ‘test email’ and email logs to see what is happening.

If you recreate the problem, you should find an email in the logs, and it is the exact error from that email that I need to fix the issue in my plugin.

Emails are working, but according to the email log, nothing was generated when the critical error was triggered. 🙁

ok, thanks, not sure why that is, but let’s try another way.

can you email me a screenshot of

dashboard>settings>bbp style pack>Topic Form Additional Fields

so I can test that combination of settings which may get me to an answer (or may not!)
