It updated OK on one of my websites but not another. Does this error tell you anything?

Fatal error: Cannot declare class Settings_API, because the name is already in use in /home/dir/public_html/my-website/wp-content/plugins/new-user-approve/includes/end-points/settings-api.php on line 9

    Hi @jimk1416,

Thank you for reaching out. We hope you’re doing well.

The error you’re encountering typically occurs when there are two instances of the same class being declared, which often happens if multiple versions of the plugin are installed at the same time.

It’s possible that an older version of the New User Approve plugin is still present on your site, and updating to the latest version created a duplicate plugin folder or retained files from the previous version.

    To resolve this:

    1. Deactivate and delete the existing New User Approve plugin.
    2. Download and install the latest version from the official source.
    3. Activate the plugin again.

This should eliminate the conflict and restore full functionality.

    Thanks & regards,

Thank you for the quick response. Unfortunately that did not work. I removed the old version 2.6.5.2. I verified the files were removed then installed the new version but still got the critical error. I will try removing other plugins to see if there is a conflict.

    Hi @jimk1416,

Thank you for your prompt update.

We understand that you’ve removed version 2.6.5.2, confirmed the files were deleted, and reinstalled the latest version; yet, the critical error remains. Removing other plugins to isolate the issue is a logical next step.

Please proceed with that process at your convenience. If the problem persists, kindly share a screencast or video demonstrating the error so we can investigate further and assist you more effectively.

Thank you for your patience and cooperation.

    Thank you
