    Hi,
I’ve just run some maintenance updates on a site updating WordPress to 6.0, Divi to the latest version and all plugins.

After this when trying to access Divi’s Theme Customizer it get a WordPress ‘There has been a critical error on this website’ warning. The website doesn’t go down and I can just hit back to go back to the previous page.

I traced this to the Yoast 19.1 plugin as when it is active I get the error. When deactivated there is no error and I can access Theme Customizer.

I have tried uninstalling and reinstalling the plugin but no luck.

    Any suggestions?

    Thanks

  • Hey @fatcacky,

    Thank you for reaching out!

We understand you’ve run some updates, but now you’re facing a critical error when you try to open up the customizer. I tried to replicate this on a local install with Yoast SEO 19.1 and Divi 4.17.4, but I am able to open up Appearance > Customizer as well as the Theme Customizer and Theme Options page.

Having said this, we need more information on the exact error. Do you have access to the server error logs so we can know what the actual PHP error is? If you’re not familiar with or have no access to your hosting control panel, please reach out to your web host.

    Thanks Jeroen,

I’m doing some more investigation on the site to try to work out what the problem might be and will be back in touch once completed.
I do have access to the cPanel which presumably means I can access the server error logs (?) but I’m not sure what I’m looking for. Could you please give me some pointers in how to find the PHP error you have mentioned?

    Thanks

Hi, still no luck with this despite further investigation and the issue is still happening when Yoast is Activated.

Can you please advise how to access the server error logs to determine the PHP error?

    Thanks

@fatcacky For cPanel, the PHP error location can vary between providers as this can be configured globally for all users on a server, or set on a per user basis via a php.ini configuration file. If you aren’t sure of the location we’d recommend checking directly with your hosting provider as they will be able to tell you with certainty, whereas we’d only be giving our best guess.

We are going ahead and marking this issue as resolved due to inactivity. If you require any further assistance please create a new issue.
