Critical error when editing product

Hello

I developed a website with WordPress, LearnDash and WooCommerce, and everything worked fine, from front-end to purchase etc. Until one day I couldn’t edit products and started receiving email about critical error. I can duplicate, but still get an error and cannot edit or add new products. Please, see logs below and let me know if you got any ideas. Thank you 🙂

Hi @micpal ,

Thanks for reaching out!

I’d suggest running a conflict test to rule out any theme/plugin conflict. The best way to determine this is to:

– Clear the site cache
– Temporarily switch your theme to Storefront
– Disable all plugins except for WooCommerce
– Check the orders again

Check if the issue is present at this point, if not it means there was a conflict, and you can reactivate the theme or plugins one by one until the cause of the issue is found, more info about running a conflict test is below: https://docs.woocommerce.com/document/how-to-test-for-conflicts/

Alternatively, you have the option to install the Health Check plugin: https://ww.wp.xz.cn/plugins/health-check/

On the troubleshooting tab, you can click the button to disable all plugins and change the theme for you, while you’re still logged in, without affecting normal visitors to your site.

Hi @micpal

We haven’t heard back from you – were you able to run the conflict test?

Are you able to edit products now? Or is the issue still persisting?

If the conflict test isn’t done yet, you may duplicate your site to a staging environment and performing tests without modifying your live site or impacting customers. Many hosting providers offer site staging facilities, but if you don’t have such a feature, you can create one with the WP Staging plugin.

Hi

I did try testing for conflicts and on first try changing to Storefront theme helped in editing products, but whole website CSS is broken now. The thing is WoCommerce was working fine with my theme, I did finish development as planned. The only issue is editing/adding new products in the future.

So I wonder: can I identify exact issue and fix it? Or I have to recover older backup and work my way up from there hoping to not encounter this issue again?

Thanks for getting back to us.

If it’s working fine with the Storefront theme, it shows the issue is originating from the theme you are using.

I’ll recommend you to reach out to the “The Core” theme support for that.
