    My company website has been showing a ‘There has been a critical error’ message on our home page for who knows how long. I just discovered this yesterday.

    I don’t know anything about php or mysequel or anything related to website coding. I just need this fixed ASAP

    You will need to login to the website, and turn off all plugins and turn them back on one by one, refreshing the page each time until you come across the conflict.

    Also, if you login to the host, there should be more information available to you in your php (or apache) error logs. If you don’t know where these are located, just ask support at your host.

    The reason for the error should be visible in the error log. You can find it in your hosting area. If necessary, the support of your hosting can help you.

    Alternatively, you could also enable debugging in WordPress. How to do this is described here: https://ww.wp.xz.cn/support/article/debugging-in-wordpress/ – also here the support of your hosting can help you if necessary to edit the file accordingly.

    In both cases you should be able to see what the cause is in the logfile.
