• I am seeking support for this message.

Please also consider this message as criticism.

Your plugin is actively used on 20,000 websites.

I also own one of these websites. Additionally, I have purchased the All Extensions and All Premium Themes package.

    My only question is:

Do all 20,000 website owners accept all listings added to their sites? Does no one reject any listings?

Or do they not monitor deleted listings?

If that's the case, I think there's something odd going on.

    What I mean is this:

An active plugin on 20,000 websites has no listing rejection feature. Added listings are either published or remain in the pending approval stage. There is no third option.

Another issue is: when a user deletes an listing, it disappears forever. It doesn't appear anywhere, not even in the admin area.

I've been using your plugins and themes for about two months now.

If you don't fix these issues, I will stop using your products.

My website has several different directories. Some of them are paid. People add listings in different directories to avoid paying. However, I want to reject the listing to tell them it's wrong. And I want an automatic message to be sent.

Additionally: I don't want users who delete their listings to be permanently deleted. Deleted listings must remain in the admin section. For legal and official matters, etc.

    Hi @aga2442,

Thank you for taking the time to share your feedback and concerns. We truly appreciate you using Directorist and for being a premium customer.

We understand the use cases you described and we agree they are important for real world directory management. Please see the clarifications below.

    1. Listing rejection and moderation workflow

At the moment, Directorist provides two core states for frontend submissions:

    • Pending (awaiting approval)
    • Published

A dedicated “rejected” status with automatic feedback messages is not currently available. However, we fully understand the need for being able to explicitly reject a listing and notify the user with a reason, especially for paid or multi directory setups.

We have shared this feedback with our product team as a feature request.

    2. Deleted listings

When a user deletes a listing from the frontend, it is permanently removed and does not remain in the admin area. At this time, there is no built in option to move user deleted listings to a recoverable or archived state.

We understand your concern regarding legal, auditing and administrative needs, and we agree that keeping deleted listings accessible for administrators is a valid and important requirement. This has also been forwarded to our development team as a feature request.

    3. Preventing users from submitting listings to the wrong directory

Currently, Directorist does not include a built in workflow to reject a listing and automatically send a custom message explaining that the listing was submitted to the wrong directory.

As a workaround, most site owners handle this by:

    • keeping listings in the Pending state, and
    • manually contacting the user when a submission is not valid

We acknowledge that this is not ideal for larger sites or paid directories and we appreciate your detailed explanation of this use case.

Your feedback is very valuable and has been recorded for future improvements. While we cannot promise a release timeline, both of the following points are already under consideration:

    • a proper rejection and notification system
    • an admin recoverable or archived state for deleted listings

Thank you again for raising these issues and for helping us improve the plugin.
