CRON alternative

    Hi,

    My hosting environment doesnt allow crons so setting auto import for me isnt possible with tablepress. Is there an alternative way to trigger the imports from using an outside cron service? Is there a certain url/file i can evoke from an outside cron service that will trigger the imports i set up. Thank you very much in advance!

    Hi,

    thanks for your post, and sorry for the trouble.

    You should actually not need the server cron functionality here. WordPress (actually for the reason that not all servers have/allow the native feature) has its own WP-Cron functionality.

    Thank you for quick reply. In my case I have a crippled go daddy managed wordpress server with no wp-cron functionality (even after manually adding to wp-config.php file) So my only hope was through a server cron. Was hoping to use server cron for that function instead. Any help appreciated!

    Hi,

    I can’t really imagine that they turned off WP-Cron, as this would mean that you for example would also not be able to use Scheduled Posts and things like that…
    A server cron should work (if you have it), but I’m not familiar with the details, sorry 🙁
