Hi, i am trying to reduce crons a bit on the site as there so many.

From the below 2, they are set to 5 minutes, whats the highest time i can make these, would an hour be ok? Would it have any effect on how jetpack works delaying them?

    jetpack_sync_cron
    jetpack_sync_full_cron

    Thanks
    Mark T

  • Hi @markckbltd

These cron jobs are used to sync your site with our servers, through the Jetpack plugin. This makes more sense if you’re using the features that communicate with our servers, such as:

    • Publicize
    • Notifications (likes & comments)
    • Activity Log
    • Jetpack Search
    • Enhanced Distribution
    • and much more shown here.

You can definitely set those jobs to run every hour, or more, but keep in mind that our servers will take more time to sync with your site, resulting in data taking time to be reflected on your WordPress.com dashboard or the related features I’ve mentioned, so it does affect Jetpack in some way!

I’d suggest going ahead with 10, or 15 minutes so the change isn’t that drastic.

Let us know if there’s anything else!

    Best,
