    Hello!

I have a question regarding CRON

I’ve put the setting to send only 20 mails per 30 minutes. I’ve activated WP cron in wp-config.php and i see eme_cron_send_queued scheduled for every 30 minutes.

But when I test by sending emails i never see the que getting full.. All emails are being sent right away.

    Is there something I’m missing?

    Greets

When sending mail, do you specify a date for sending? Because only for planned mails the queue will be used. If you select to send mails immediately, it will not use the queue (maybe I should be more clear in that regard, I’ll update the descriptions a bit).

    Hi Franky,

    Thanks for the reply.

No i’m trying to use this setting for the automated (RSVP) ‘thanks for registering for event x’ and ‘your payment has been received succesfully’ e-mails..

If i understand you correctly this setting is not for the mails described above? My hosting has a limit of sending of 50 mails per 30 minutes and I was think of using this que. I guess I have too look to other solutions then?

Again, thanks for your time. I will discuss an donation for you plugin with my team. Great work!

Fyi: Ive decided using the smtp-mailing-queue plugin: https://ww.wp.xz.cn/plugins/smtp-mailing-queue/

Although I like the plugin, it is not maintained and unsupported on current wp versions.
But I’ll take a look at your problem. Indeed I should be able to just put everything on the queue too.

Hi Franky, awesome that you are willing to look into this. To have it integrated would be better then using another plugin (that is indeed outdated).

If you’re willing to try the dev version: it should be in there now 🙂

    Hi Frankie,

I downloaded & installed the dev version (2.0.26) by firstly deleting the version I had installed via FTP

After that i activated CRON by queuing 20 mails per 15 minutes. And tried to register via an test event. Two mails were directly sended out (the one to the contact en the one to me).

Is there something else I have to configure first?

Did you activate the new option in EME to queue *all* mails?

Ah I missed that setting :D, it works! Awesome, i will test some more in our live environment.

Many thanks for so far! How do you advice to update when a next version comes out? (or is the dev version also updated)

It will update like any other version of the plugin, so no worries.
