• Is it possible to upgrade plugins automatically by setting up a cron?

If so what do we need to enter for the cron?

Or perhaps there is a plugin that can be installed which will keep all other plugins up-to-date automatically.

We have about 200+ WordPress sites which can be very time consuming when we need to upgrade plugins.

Is there any solution out there to allow site owners to upgrade WordPress plugins automatically via a cron or other automated process?

It’s usually a security risk to leave outdated plugins on a site. We’d like to auto-upgrade plugins for 200+ WordPress sites of our own. I know customers would like this feature as well.

I would rather fix problems any updates may cause rather than keep outdated plugins on a site.

Does anyone else have a need for this? I am surprised an option for this is not already built into the WordPress core by now.

We’ve seen at least 20+ WordPress sites get hacked recently and most were using the updated core.

We really need the option to be able to upgrade plugins automatically via a cron or other scheduled task.

Is this possible? Can the feature be added to future versions?
