Main Crop image not showing up
-
Sorry for posting the same thing as others but i’m having the same issue as others have here where the main crop image not showing up. I love this plugin and have used it for many years and I believe donated in the past. I’m sure you’re working hard to solve the problem.
I’ve enabled debugging, I’ve tried using an older version, i’ve tried different browsers, I’ve checked my javascript console, I’ve disabled all plugins. Nothing seems to work. I’ve tried locally on my dev setup and on my production server. Same deal. Any ideas? Any help would be GREATLY appreciated.
warmest regards,
Dave

Dave, yes you are of two people that have donated, :).
The problem with this issue is that I can’t duplicate the problem consistently. If you rollback to an older version does the problem persist?
Before you do that, try to enable debugging and then open the JavaScript tool panel and try to duplicate the problem. If there are no JavaScript errors, check the network panel to see if any of the calls failed.
There should be several calls to admin Ajax, and some of them should have logs attached to them, try looking at the responses to see if you can see any exceptions.
I’ll see if I can push out a version that makes this debugging easier.
Hey Sewpafly. Thanks for the quick reply. Only 2 people have donated? That’s very sad to hear. This plug is an essential for the sites I build. Thanks again for all your hard work.
I did try to roll back to 3.2.1 but with no luck. Same issue. I had enabled the debugger but didn’t see any errors. I do see a console log for “Disabling loading screen” that is part of: angular.min.js line 2146. but other than that, no network errors or misfires.
However the 2 ajax calls do return something odd. The first one seems fine. The ajax call for the following:

Ok, I’ve seen this problem before but in that case it was a wordpress problem…
What happens if you try to edit the image through wordpress’s tools? (Media → Edit → Edit Image). If the image doesn’t appear than it’s a php issue, otherwise I’ll have to walk you through adding some debugging to the plugin.
Actually now that I think of it, i think I know the issue. try changing your theme… See the resolution here:

http://ww.wp.xz.cn/support/topic/admin-ajaxphp-imgedit-preview-header-problem?replies=4#post-3252437Thanks for the tips! The image didn’t show up in the wordpress editor either. I switched themes (I built a custom theme using JointsWP (foundation based) theme). Once I switched to twenty fourteen theme PTE started working. Any ideas what in my theme would break it. Sorry to send you on this goose chase when it wasn’t your issue. Appreciate any tips to solve this.
Thanks.
Yeah, from what i’ve seen it’s always been an extra empty line after a closing php tag:
?>. Since a php file doesn’t require the closing tag I recommend just deleting the closing tags in your files (usuallyfunctions.php, but it could be anotherphpfile). (Or you can delete the line(s) after the closing tag).Holy crap! You are the BEST! That is exactly what It was. THANK YOU!!!!
No problem, have to earn that donation somehow 🙂
You’ve already done that 10-fold. Thanks again
