I’ve recently taken over a project and have noticed that the cross to close a fancybox window has simply disappeared. I’ve been trying to troubleshoot this for a couple of days now – I have no idea what could have caused this… something happening with jquery? a plugin conflict?

The close button is enabled in the plugin’s configuration. There appear to be no errors in console to explain that something is wrong.

Do you have any idea what could be causing it?

    Thanks,
    Michelle

  • Hi Michelle, this usually happens when the theme or another plugin is including it’s own jQuery library, without making sure the WordPress included library is removed.

You can either try to make the theme or that other plugin to NOT do that if there is an option to not include jQuery to be found. Or by modifying the theme if you are the developer of course 🙂

Otherwise, you can try the Compatibility options that come with Easy FancyBox. You can find them on Settings > Media under Miscellaneous > Browser & device compatibility. Start with the option “Do not include standard WordPress jQuery library” but if that does not help, then changing the script priority might change things for the better 🙂
