Cross posting?
-
Hello,
What exactly does mean “cross posting” and how to use this setting please?
-
Hello,
It means when you make a new post on your blog do you want to automatically share about it on social sites.
If “Don’t cross post automatically” is unchecked (ie the cross posting is enabled) upon creation of new post MicroblogPoster will send an update (that is called Auto Publish) to all your configured social accounts. Thanks but this a bit confusing as you use “cross post”, “auto publish” and “auto share” in descriptions.
For instance, what is the difference between
– Cross post to facebook , twitter and more
and
– Auto publish to facebook , tumblr
and
– Auto share to twitter , facebook , linkedin ???Some other newbie questions:
– are URL shorteners required?
– what is exactly the “Default per POST UPDATE behavior” and why is this recommended?
– in General Options, I have my custom post types listed; but not under tab “Auto Publish Old Posts”. What does this mean? Are they automatically included when publishing old posts? Thanks for your assistance!
No differences between the terms used, they all mean the same thing.
They mean auto publish to your configured social accounts when you make:– new post/page/custom post type
– update post/page/custom post type
– the tab ‘Old posts’ is for old posts in your blogUrl shorteners are not required. If you don’t set up a Url shortener don’t use the shortcode {SHORT_URL} because it’ll be empty.
Most of the time if you already auto published when you created a new post, you don’t want to auto publish again if you’re updating your post on your blog. That’s why we say it’s recommeneded to disable MicroblogPoster on updates. But of course it’s up to you.
Currently the feature “Auto Publish Old Posts” is only about actual posts on your blog. No pages nor custom post types are supported.
Thanks, I better understand now.
I have a site with existing custom post types (directory listings) that I want to publish on social networks before actually start publishing the new ones to come.Unfortunately, I see that your plugin won’t allow this.
That’s really a pity!I’ve created a blog and have successfully used Microblog poster to post to my twitter and my facebook business page. For some reason, it just won’t post to my personal facebook page. Can one facebook app post to 2 different pages? I’ve spent so much time trying to figure this out and it’s very frustrating. Please help.
Yes a single facebook App can be used for multiple facebook profiles/pages.
