Crowdsec issues

This plugin does exactly what I need. Unfortunately, it triggers the crowdsec error “Protect WordPress uploads directory from listing files” and bans any IP trying to download. It must use some invasive practices that I seem to be unable to circumvent. Any help to resolve is appreciated.
