• Hello Everyone,

I apologies if I have posted in the incorrect forum but I really need some experienced help.

    I am a noob.

I have a website that is registered for a domain in Mozambique and I wanted the exact same design, theme, wording and so on ….. to be on the new website on the South African domain. The only difference would be the name of the site and company.

So I registered the new domain, installed wordpress and then I copied the complete site from the MOZ domain and pasted it into a newly created WP folder within the PUBLIC HTML / root ….. for testing purposes. I then edited the sql db file with the help of FIND and REPLACE (within NOTEPAD in Windows), I uploaded the edited db and made the necessary changes to the WP CONFIG file.

I refreshed and all I had was the basic startup theme and the wording without any formatting – no pics, no css.

I almost gave up but I copied and pasted and got the coloring back and pics and so on …….. but like an idiot, I did all of this in the WP folder ….. so to get to the new site, one would have to type http://www.domain.com/wp instead of just http://www.domain.com.

I then thought I could simply copy and paste the content as well as the sql db file from the WP folder and place it directly into the PUBLIC HTML – to my great disappointment, all the content and css was lost once again.

I know it isn’t LOST, it has to be there but there must be something that I am missing and I don’t even know where to begin looking.

    PLEASE HELP!
