    Hello,

I currently have a locally set-up website using XAMPP. I am using the latest version of SmartMag from Themeforest. All of my theme sidebars are working 100% fine. The problem occurs when I create any new ‘custom’ sidebar, via this plug-in. The widgets will display, but they are missing the Theme’s CSS Styling. I specifically want one ‘custom’ sidebar on a bbPress Forum page that I have created, but the styling is so bland and messy that it just isn’t presentable. Perhaps the styling won’t transfer on locally set-up sites? Maybe I have an option wrong? I followed the documentation of both the plug-in and the theme documentation for setting it up.

Any help will be much appreciated! 🙂

  • Hi @michaelr12,

Sorry to hear of the problem you are having. The plugin is working fine on my test site.

Could you please share some screenshots of the issue so that we can better understand it?

For screenshots, you can simply provide a link to an image through Google Drive, Dropbox, screencast.com, http://imgur.com/ or other image service. 🙂

This can be due to plugin/theme conflict on your site.

You can just try on your development site using default WordPress theme like Twenty Fifteen and deactivating all other plugins as displayed in the following flowchart to know which theme/plugin is conflicting if any.

If it’s the theme conflict issue then could you please send me the SmartMag theme that you are using on the email id contact[at]wpmudev.org so that i can troubleshoot it?

    Hi Vinod!

I tried deactivating my plug-ins and I found the culprit. It appears that I had a fixed widget plug-in that was conflicting the CSS styling on custom sidebars.

Thank you for your quick and professional reply!

    🙂
