I have followed the import instructions and even copied my info directly into your example csv and it will not upload. There are over 1000 names so I thought that might be the issue. Is there a limit on the amount of fields? It is the latest version of wordpress and the plug-in.
    Thanks

    Hi Kabney,

there is no limit. But for me, not able to see the file, it will be just guessing what might be wrong. A while ago I fixed some bugs regarding import issues. Are you on the last version?

If so, then I’d like to receive the file so I can test it myself. My e-mailaddress is the username here (at) gmail.com

    Kind regards,

yes, latest version. Sending you the file via e-mail.

Also, is there a way to have the page stay in the same place when you select a letter? Every time I select a letter, the page refreshes and takes me back to the top of the page. you have to scroll down the page again to get to the selected content. thanks!

    Hi Kabney,

I received the file, thank you.

Your other question is an entire other topic for sure. It would have this plugin to support AJAX. Could work, but at the moment the plugin is not setup with that. Especially with more than a thousand names I’m sure if it would work properly. For now, that’s not something I will change.

Thanks again for the CSV file, I solved it. Not by programming. I wasn’t sure what was wrong, so I opened it in Excel and just saved it again as CSV with a different file name. After that, the import worked. 1183 entries. I think it had something to do with line endings.

Can you try it again? If it doesn’t work I’ll send you my file too. Please let me know if everything worked out.

    Kind regards,

yes, please send me your file. Mine still does not work. What do you mean by line endings?

ok, I tried using a file converter online and while it did like the file better and uploaded the entries (at least it says it did) they are no where to be found. I get a message that the entries are uploaded but when I go to the directory, it says no names are added to this directory. ?? and it’s empty

I already know what’s causing the not-importing. It’s because there is no description set. The file I attached has this in an ’empty, but set’ column.

In the mean time, I will fix the description-requirement, because that isn’t necessary. My code is already prepared for that, but there still is a database constraint.

I hope this file I sent you by email will work, please let me know 🙂
