Cubic theme customisation

    I have just installed the cubic theme for a website (purpleatlas.com). It was a free theme (child of broadwalk). I am unable to execute most customisation functions on the site mainly because the icons for doing so are not there. For example, under appearance/customise, I can only see site identity, menus, widgets, static front page and theme options. None of these allow me to;
    1. Change the font
    2. Colour of background
    3. Insert logo/ header image

    I have also deactivated disabled adding comments to posts, but this option is still there even after I save.

    I have read on another Cubic theme discussion forum, all the suggestions make sense; but only if I was able to see the icons/places to click.

    Please help me.
    P.S. I know nothing about CSS. If there are plugins you can recommend that will enable me carry out simple customisation, I will greatly appreciate.
