@alizesonline I hear you Gilles 🙁
But interestingly OVH are looking into my support ticket which has highlighted an error in my php version… which is obviously not a Wordfence issue.
May I ask you please what php and cURL versions you have reported when you run the WF diagnostics – mine were php 5.4.45 and cURL 7.21.0
As far as my control panel settings and OVH were aware they were 7.2 and 7.38.0 – so clearly something’s wrong.
Also, I am a big fan of Wordfence – much prefer it to any other security plugin.
@jason-kickmouth
Please, read my edited reply above. I fixed the problem switching the PHP environment of the hosting from “legacy” to “stable”.
To do so, one can use the OVH dashboard and edit the PHP settings, or edit the “.ovhconfig” file at the root of the server:
replace “container.image=legacy” by “container.image=stable”
This works with both PHP 5.6 and PHP 7.0
I hope this will help.
thanks @alizesonline for your response ! It’s working just fine on my website too. OVH’s support told me exactly the same : switch my PHP configuration from “legacy” to “stable”.
The “legacy” was using the old Open SSL version 0.9.8o, and Stable is using 1.2 of the TLS protocol.
I’m closing the subject.
My Centos 5.11 has no update packages available for OpenSSL or libcurl, so it will be necessary for me to create my own work-arounds.
Does anyone know of scripts that will perform rdiff on my wordpress against the golden wordpress files?
Thanks @alizesonline it worked perfectly!
Hi:
Any news about this issue? I just installed Wordfence and I am unable to perform a scan. I get this error:
wp_remote_post() test to noc1.wordfence.com failed! Response was: cURL error 35: SSL connect error
CURL and ssl are updated:

Thanks!
Hi,
my web site is hosted at OVH, as ‘chloebgt’ user. I have changed the PHP option from ‘legacy’ to ‘stable’ and moved to PHP 5.6.
When connecting to my server with SSH, i can see i get correct versions of openssl (OpenSSL 1.0.1t) and curl (curl 7.38.0).
But WordFence continues to say the openssl version is bad (0.9). Morover it says PHP is 5.5.38 and curl is 7.21.0 …
Wordfence labs, could you help me please to solve this issue ? I cannot scan my WordPress site.
Thanks a lot in advance
