    hello I want your help I have this error maybe it shows because my hosting is not working ipv6 so how can I disable ipv6 on wordfence so it works on my environment only with ipv4? Thanks a lot

    Hi @insecttrojan,

    Thanks for reaching out! You can configure Wordfence to use only IPv4 to start scans in Wordfence > Scan > Scan Options and Scheduling. In Advanced Scan Options, enable the option Use only IPv4 to start scans. Hit the SAVE CHANGES button to save the changes.

    If you run into any issues, please send me a copy of your diagnostics at wftest @ wordfence . com. You can find the link to do so at the top of the Wordfence > Tools > Diagnostics page. Then click on “Send Report by Email”. Please add your forum username where indicated and respond here after you have sent it.

    Hi @wfmargaret

    I have a website hosted on Altervista (free plan), and I’m trying to install Wordfence for security. However, when I enter my email and API key during the activation process, I get the following error:

    cURL error 56: Received HTTP code 403 from proxy after CONNECT

    I suspect it might be related to Altervista’s restrictions or a proxy issue, but I’m not sure how to fix it.

    Has anyone encountered this problem before? Any suggestions on how to resolve it?

    Please start a new topic for your error. Different issues and environments likely have different underlying causes, so we try to keep each issue to its own topic to avoid confusion.

    Having said that, we’ll likely need diagnostics from your site as well, so please feel free to send those pre-emptively and let us know they’ve already been sent in the new topic.
