This is the message I keep getting when trying to set up the Site Kit. I have tried multiple times and have even reset it.
“Oops! There was a problem during setup. Please try again.
Unknown Error (code: cURL error 7: ).”
It also says this:
“Your site may not be ready for Site Kit
Looks like your site is having a technical issue with requesting data from Google services.
To get more help, ask a question on our support forum and include the text of the original error message:
google_api_connection_fail”

It seems some of the WAF(Web Application Firewall) rules are integrated that’s why they are restricting Google Services. Please share your Site Health information via form privately so we can inspect your setup.

Thanks for getting back to us.
If possible, could you temporarily disable software such as firewall or security applications running on your computer or your web hosting provider before setting up Site Kit?
Note that previously users who had similar encounters noticed restrictions from the web application firewall or hosting level.
