I have noticed that the filters don’t work for custom attributes used for variations.
When selecting the custom product-specific attributes it results in a 0 results found.
Using the site-wide attributes it works as expected though.

Another suggestion would be the ability to add additional columns, such as the attribute values, or even allowing an area to add the other information from the variation, such as regular price, sale price, Stock Status, Downloadable, Virtual, etc.
I realize the price is shown, but i’d like to show the regular price – Sale price comparison in the variations.

It works for custom attributes, I just tested it, send me your page to check please.

Regarding your suggestion, yes, it’s good Idea, I already added it to my future releases plan, but I don’t have lots time these days in fact 🙁

http://www.kintronic.com/shop/291-mica-capacitors/ is the product page, although currently I have set this to use site-wide attributes because the custom ones wouldn’t show any results when filtered.
The variations would show up, but when choosing via the dropdowns, no variations resulted.

is a good example of the custom attributes.
