• i am new using word press. not sure what I am doing…

    i am trying to find a theme that lets me select my background and header. I found a theme that said it can do this – but when I uploaded my image – it placed it below the light blue background that was part of the theme. And also – it gave the dimensions that my header needs to be – and I created my photoshop JPG file to that size – and then it cropped it.

  • try to search the themes in the ww.wp.xz.cn theme directory, using the tag filter: http://ww.wp.xz.cn/extend/themes/tag-filter/

    It worked for me using Twenty Eleven. give that an experiment

    i just used Twenty Eleven — and it is doing the same thing. All it did is place an image I uploaded underneath the template art that was already there. I want my background image on the background of the entire page with my copy running on top of it.

    Can you provide a link to your site?

    When you upload the background image, you are going to appearance > Background, Right?

    that is the way it is – the custom background is for the body layer;

    if you want a different content background, you need to edit style.css –
    I don’t know of any theme that has this option in the dashboard.
