    Hello,

I’ve put in some custom CSS on my site, but the changes don’t show up on mobile. Interestingly, they DO show up when previewing my mobile theme on desktop, when I look at my phone, none of the changes have been made.

I think there is a piece of custom CSS regarding screen resolution I need to have, but I’m not sure what that is.

    Thank you!

    Hi,

Again, just that. Custom CSS is not working when viewed on an actual mobile phone. For example, on this page there is some weird green boxes and lines present in the page. I put in custom CSS to get rid of it, which works when looking on the desktop version of mobile:

, but not when looking on an actual phone:

This is just one example of custom CSS working on desktop, but not mobile.

    Thank you!

    Hi @andysp99

Weird, please share a direct link to the page where the issue appears and we will try to send you CSS snippets to remove the mentioned sections.

For sure. This is the specific page in the example (the website is private right now so please let me know if you can see it!):

I’m also using CSS to wrap pre-formatted text, which appears on multiple pages, which also doesn’t work unfortunately.

    Thank you!

    Hi @andysp99

As you mentioned, we are unable to check your website as it’s under construction mode or was not published yet.

    Hi,

    1. Css functionality is wp default option – so this is not theme related issue, if you are using any caching plugins or any other caching solutions clear them before checking on mobile.
    2. Make sure to clean the mobile cache before checking (every time you make CSS changes)
    3. If you can disable under construction mode it will be much helpful to our support team to investigate the issue you have.

    Kind Regards,
    Nick

    Hi Nick,

I’ve disabled private site. Feel free to take a look.

    Thanks!

    Hi @andysp99

Seems that issue is related to your caching systems, we checked your website on several mobile screens but can’t get the same issue as you described, no weird green boxes and lines, please see the screenshot: https://nimb.ws/xJ6Nyb

    Hi,

Again, the problem only appears when looking at the mobile version on an actual phone. When viewed on a desktop, even looking at the mobile theme as the picture does, it looks fine. I’m also using a plugin (WPTouch, which is great) to have people view my mobile theme. In short, you need to look on an actual mobile device to see the problem. I had been told the solution was a piece of CSS somewhat like this:

    Hi @andysp99,

As @wprsupport said your website was checked on several mobile devices (not just “mobile screens”) and still, we can’t reproduce the issue.

Can you please tell us which mobile device and browser are you using? Maybe there is something that needs update on your device.

Anyways, this issue could not be caused by a theme, there should be a 3rd party plugin that adds those “weird green boxes”.

    Kind Regards

    Hello,

I’ve tried on multiple phones and every one of them shows the green boxes, on various platforms (Samsung internet, chrome for mobile, etc.). It’s also not just green boxes, it’s all custom CSS. For another example, on this page I’ve set preformatted text to wrap instead of run into a single line, which again works when viewed in desktop, but not on mobile.

I’m at my wits end at what to do.

    Thanks,

Maybe you have some local issue with your wp or with your browser. To be honest I have no Idea what else it can be.

    Kind Regards,
    Nick
