Thanks for reporting. It appears to be a bug in the plugin, just noticed that WPP won’t pick up custom excerpts. Will look into it as soon as possible.

I have Version 3.1.1 installed but I can’t see where/how it picks up the custom excerpt.
What is the tag/shortcode……

The plugin picks the custom excerpt automatically if its available -that is if the editor (you) filled in the Custom Excerpt field in the New / Edit Post screen- otherwise it’ll create one from post content. Whatever the result is, the excerpt is then passed to the {summary} content tag.

yes, the custom excerpt field has text in it but it’s creating excerpt text and not picking up the custom excerpt text.

Can you elaborate a bit more on what you’re doing over there? You haven’t shared much details so I’m guessing you’re using either the wpp shortcode or the wpp_get_mostpopular().
