@meeller you could use this plugin http://ww.wp.xz.cn/plugins/custom-favicon/ to add favicon to your WP site. You won’t have to modify anything and the won’t affect theme change.
Thanks for the suggestion, the plugin doesn’t seem to be working properly, I can’t get a link to the settings once I have activated the plugin. I’ll take a look at it again tomorrow, I hadn’t thought of going the route of a plugin rather than just quick and dirty coding.
Thank you!
Hi,
This issue is related to wordpress and not the theme in general.
Kindly check it here: http://codex.ww.wp.xz.cn/Creating_a_Favicon
The above article explains everything.
@meeller once you install and activate the link appears under “Settings” menu.
@skt – yeah, thanks.
@harish – the plugin is not working properly, there is no settings menu that comes up with it. Just “Deactivate” and “Edit”. I deleted it and re-installed it, same issue. I will go through and do the coding as suggested by SKT, but I really appreciate your help. 🙂
@meeller From menu I am referring to the left side menu and not links below a plugin name.
I meant, on the left there is a large “Settings” menu. In the line where you see other navigation menus such as Post, Pages, Media Comments. So there under settings you should find “Custom Favicon” menu in case you are still interested in using the plugin.
@harish, I could kiss you. Thank you. 🙂
@meeller lol. Glad I could be of help.
