When users create new locations using the “Add Location” feature, I have several custom fields that I don’t want them to be able to update. Some of the location fields are for internal use.

I’ve tried marking those fields as “Private” in the form settings, but they still appear when users open the “Add Location” form.

Does anyone have advice on how this behavior can be changed so the fields remain hidden from frontend users?

    Hi @bobileksperten,

To mark a custom field as “private” means the users fills out this field but its value won’t be displayed in the marker popup publicly. This makes sense for phone numbers or email addresses (sensitive contact data that should not be published).

I guess your use case is different. Since you want to manage internal fields that are not accessible to your users at all, I would recommend to use Advanced Custom Fields or something similar. With that you could assign custom fields to the locations without a relation to Open User Map’s custom fields.

    Best regards,
    Daniel
