Custom Fields Feature

    You guys highlight a “Custom Fields” feature on your page but do not actually support this via the GUI.

    Perhaps, I’m wrong and if so, how the hell does someone add a custom field to the user profile so that it can be displayed globally across the website?

    If we must manually add it to the code, then you should STOP highlighting “Custom Fields” as a feature because it’s misleading.

    Hi @mikejaim3,

    Please go to Ultimate Member->Forms->Your Form (Edit) inside the dashboard. Then click the (+) icon, you should be able to Setup New Field from here. These fields are custom fields, there is also a list of predefined field available right below them. Once you create a new field, it will be available as custom field under the predefined field and you can use these fields in any um forms. You need to add the field in profile form to show it in user profile. However, if the field doesn’t have any value it won’t show up in frontend. User need to edit the profile and save the value to show the field in frontend. You can also set a default value when creating your custom field to show it up in frontend.

    And how do we create a custom validation for a field, say like validating a person Id Number or some specific data?

    Thanks, but where do I put this code. I looked at all examples and there was no indication of where to put it.

    You can put custom codes in your child theme’s functions.php file.
