Custom fields in customer email

Hi there,
I have a question about the plugin. It works fine, I just can’t seem to get one thing done. I have created a custom profuct field with optional upgrades. these fields are shown during the entire checkout process, but not in the email that the customer and admin receive. I’ve tried everything to get this in the mail, but I just can’t get it to work. Does anyone happen to know if this is possible and how I can add it to the email?
