    Hi Guys,

I really like your plugin and I’ve used it to upload my new users, but my custom field is not uploading correctly.

    Here’s my method…
I downloaded my existing users and used the download CSV to get the correct headings from WP.
I then removed the existing users info, inserted the details for the new users and uploaded the CSV using your plugin.

The standard details were uploaded correctly but the email address and my custom field were inserted into an area of the user profile called “Extra profile information”.

How can I correct this as I will not have enough time to manually edit/correct the large number of new users that I’ve added?

Could this have something to do with this note:

“You can upload as many files as you want, but all must have the same columns. If you upload another file, the columns will change to the form of last file uploaded.”

Does this mean that the second file column titles will be changed to column titles that were in the first file that I uploaded?
How can I change this as each set of users will be different?

Thanks in advance for your help.
    Donal

    Donal A,

You can deactivate it in order to prevent showing it.

You can also support a develop in order to make a checkbox to activate/deactivate it.

    Hi Javier,

Thanks for the very fast response. Much appreciated.

Sorry, but I don’t understand your answer. Maybe I could be more specific in my questions…

    1. Is there anything I can do to stop my custom columns being saved as “Extra Profile Information”?

    2. How can I make sure that each upload is treated exactly like my previous uploads?

Finally, What do you suggest I look at developing a checkbox for?

Thanks again and well done for a great plugin.

    Donal,

    Ok, I answer you:

    1) Extra fields should use same key as you are using in database. After import, you have to deactivate the plugin if you don’t want the “Extra profile information”

    2) Use the same format

Checkbox can be done in order to prevent to deactivate the plugin, you would be able to leave it activated and make “Extra profile infomation” disappear with a checkbox in plugin settings. If you are interested, and you pay the develop, we can do it for you.

    Thanks!

    Hi Javier,

Thanks again for the rapid reply. I’ll take a look at this following your instructions.

Also, thanks for your offer to develop a checkbox, but I have to be honest and say that I don’t have a budget to request this, so I’ll have to deactivate/re-activate the plugin for now.

    Thanks,
    DonalA

    Hi Javier,

I followed your instructions and I still cannot get a custom field to import. I am using the correct database name but I cannot get it to work.

When I export an existing user the custom field name is…
    wp_s2member_custom_fields

    and the content is…
    emp_name|emp_mycompany|staff_num|1234

    Donal A,

This plugin cannot import complex data, like serialized one.

    This can be the problem.

    Hi Javier,

Thanks for your update. I’ve also contacted the team who developed the wp_s2member plugin to see if they can offer any help. If they give me more info I’ll post it here for future reference.

    Cheers,
