Custom icon/marker?

    So far, Embed Google Maps seems to be the best WP plugin for embedding custom maps. Are you all still wanting to add more map customization features? On our old website we had a Google Map plugin with many settings, one of which allowed me to do this:

    icon:www.mysite.com/images/custom.gif

    …and a custom icon would appear on the map instead of the default map marker. Can this be implemented into Embed Google Maps?

    Thank you the positive feedback. New ideas are always welcome.

    You’re not the first one to request this feature. Unfortunately it’s not supported by Google Maps Iframe Embed API that my plugin is using. Google Maps JavaScript API supports custom markers and plugins using that API can easily provide this feature. The downside of the JavaScript API is that you need to obtain a Google API key to be able to use it.

    Currently my plugin doesn’t support custom markers, but I will consider adding the feature in the future releases.
