custom layout for admin widget area

Hi,
i need to have a frontpage completley widgetised, i know how to do that.. but in the backend (the admin section) i want to have it in the same layout as the frontpage, so the customer can drop new content in the right widget box instead of looking if the widget name corresponds
so, is it possible to to create a custom layout for the widget page, and is so… how?
