• Hello,
I wantet to make a custom header with Elementor under Astra -Custom layout.
But when i want to create the Header with elementor, the old one, i adjustet with the costumizer. ( i was just playing around with the options in the customizer, cause i worked the first time with astra)
So how can i split the connection between the customizer and the new custom layout?
I mean i made a new layout, so i should be able to switch betwen the layouts and each one has no connection between the others, so i can try different things, right?

ans when i create a new layout, how can i use it for the website? so it replaces the current one.

And actually I dont really get the use of the customizer, when working with elementor, even though the you cant use the below and obove header options, when working with elementor. So maybe one can shed some light on the best way to create a custom Layout with astra, in combination with elementor and the theme.

    Thank you
    Huronsen
ps: is the ticket support working, i made a ticket couple days ago…

  • Hello @huronsen

    # So how can I split the connection between the customizer and the new custom layout?
=> Once the Custom Layout is set it overrides the default Header.

    # I mean I made a new layout, so I should be able to switch between the layouts and each one has no connection between the others, so I can try different things, right?
=> Yes, you can create different Custom Layouts without any connection.

    # And when I create a new layout, how can I use it for the website? so it replaces the current one.
=> You will have to publish the required Header Layout with the Display On settings as required while saving the others as a draft or as required.

Do refer to the video in this document to help you understand the working of Custom Layouts.

    # And actually I don’t really get the use of the customizer when working with Elementor, even though the you cant use the below and obove header options, when working with elementor.
=> Yes, while you are using the Custom Layouts, you have complete control to create Headers and other layouts as per your requirement.

In that scenario, the Below and Above Header do not come to use. It would be handy when you design the Primary Menu using the Customizer and want to insert the widgets and other features right from the Customizer.

While regarding the Support Ticket, we did face some issues on Sunday with our mailbox, but it was rectified soon.

I hope that helps and answers your query.

    Regards,
    Suman
