Custom Login URL doesnt work

    Hi,

    I’m running into an issue with WP 2FA and MemberPress. The integration generally works, but as soon as I change the default WordPress login URL (using the All In One Security plugin), the MemberPress login page breaks.

    Here are the details:

    • When using the default WordPress login page, 2FA works correctly.
    • After changing the WordPress login URL via All In One Security, the standard WordPress login continues to work fine with 2FA.
    • However, the MemberPress login page stops working. Instead of completing the login (after entering my OTP ), it tries to redirect to: wp-login.php?action=validate_2fa

    How can I resolve this?

    The plugin versions:
    WordPress 6.8.2
    All-In-One Security (AIOS) 5.4.3
    MemberPress Plus 1.12.7
    WP 2FA 2.9.3

    Thanks for the detailed report of this interesting case.

    From what you describe, WP 2FA itself is working fine on the default WordPress login page, even after the login URL is changed by All In One Security. The problem only arises on the MemberPress login page, which suggests there might be a possible conflicting issue between MemberPress and the URL rewrite from AIOS, rather than WP 2FA alone.

    A couple of things you could check to help narrow this down and help us determine if we made the right assumption here:

    1. Does the MemberPress login works again with WP 2FA if you disable the login URL change in AIOS correct?
    2. If AIOS is active but WP 2FA is disabled, does MemberPress login still work correctly with the custom login URL?
    3. Do you see any errors in the browser console or in the WordPress debug.log file when the redirect to wp-login.php?action=validate_2fa happens?
    4. As a deeper test, could you temporarily disable AIOS and keep only WP 2FA + MemberPress active, then try again?
    5. Last but not least – have you consider trying another plugin that can be used to change the URL of the login page and test again? There are quite a few other plugins and methods to do so, and I would be very curious to see how this goes, as there’s a chance that AIOS alone to be causing this.

    After testing further, it turns out that AIOS was indeed the source of the problem. Disabling the login URL change in AIOS resolved the issue, and when I switched to using another plugin to handle the login URL change, everything worked correctly with WP 2FA and MemberPress together.
