Custom menu items not showing correctly

    Hello,
    I use FaLang with YOOtheme for English and German language and I do encounter two problems with menu items consisting of custom links. I do have one menu item “About Me”.

    1. Problem: Translated title is not shown in German menu
      I translated “About Me” to “Über mich” and published it but in the German menu it still shows “About Me” instead of “Über mich” although the value seems to be saved correctly.
    2. Problem: German URL is not saved
      “About me” should lead to an anchor on the start page “/#aboutme”. So, from the German menu it shoud lead to “/de/#aboutme” . When I change the URL accordingly it’s not saved and still the default link is displayed.

    How can I solve this problem? Thank you and best

    1. Translate menu

    Did you translate the post title , It’s probably the post title use for the menu and not the menu item directly

    2. German url not saved.

    It’s something i have to put in the default configuration. you have to open the Falang > Settings > Translate Options > Navigation Menu Item click on options

    in the popup check if you have “_menu_item_url” enabled.

    Thank you for the fast reply.

    1. I translated the title of the menu item, exactly as I did for other menu items. For menu items which are of type “page” it works but for menu items which are of type “custom link” it doesn’t work. The field I used is called “title”.
    2. Yes, that was it. Thanks a lot for this! 🙂 My suggestion would be to show at least an info box when a user tries to save the value which states that this option needs to be enabled first.

    1. I test it locally and i don’t have problem

    1 have created a menu item custom link “Custom menu EN” to a wp page (gutenberg), i translate this menu item “Custom Menu FR”, see here

    The menu item is translated correctly

    the message is : _menu_item_url need to be enabled in the Falang > Settings > Translate Options > Navigation Menu Items > Options to save Custom URL

    Hi,

    The new Falang version is released . a message is added to give info if the setting is not set correctly
