I’m a bit stagnant with uploading files like .step .dxf .dwg via Forminator plugin. And I can’t figure out where the problem is. Hosting doesn’t block any upload, I have MIME types enabled via the plugin File upload types by WPforms and Forminator also has these MIME types enabled in the settings (tried several different types of writing). Does anyone know what could be the problem?

    Hello @pankapor

Hope you’re doing well today! Thank you for reaching out to us.

I was able to make a test on my lab site and could not replicate the issue after I added additional filetypes in the Forminator upload field settings as per the screenshot here https://monosnap.com/file/1ILCOycy9ZEaUYNyaxyAkaFCSF2HYb.

Could you please confirm if you’ve added the additional filetypes on the upload field settings as per the format below
    .step|application/octet-stream, .dxf|image/vnd.dxf, .dwg|image/vnd.dwg

If so, it should be uploaded fine if there are no blocks on the server for these MIME types. However, in case you’ve already added the MIME types as mentioned above on the Forminator upload field settings, it would be the server perhaps blocking the upload somehow.

Additionally, could you please let us know the error that you notice?

    Kind Regards,
    Saurabh

Hi, thank you for your answer,

    in Forminator upload field I have set the following subfile types: .stl|application/vnd.ms-pki.stl, .3mf|application/x-3mf, .obj|text/plain, .blend|application/x-blender, . igs|model/iges, .iges|model/iges, .scad|application/octet-stream, .dxf|application/dxf, .dwg|application/acad, .step|application/step, .dwf|model/vnd.dwf, .ai|application/postscript

I disabled all other plugins that could block uploading these files, I contacted the hosting company that does not block any uploads. Do you have any idea what else I could check?

    Hi @pankapor,

Can you please share an export of the form so that we can take a closer look at the form configuration and check the issue further?

Please use Google Drive or Pastebin.com to share the form export. I hope the following guide comes in handy: https://wpmudev.com/docs/wpmu-dev-plugins/forminator/#import-export

Looking forward to hearing back from you and helping you resolve the issue as soon as possible.

    Best Regards,
    Nebu John
