Custom Page Template

I am trying to create a custom dynamic Gallery page.

For example, when you edit a gallery and change the “Page Link to:” to the dynamic gallery page. On the front end, when a user goes to the Album page and clicks on a gallery, it would take them to that dynamic gallery page and display the images.

I am trying to avoid using short codes because i have other custom programming that I need to do on the page.

I thought i could pull the GID from a query string, but that’s not working, because no query string is being created.
