Custom password validation

I would like to change the password condition to using selecting two from english, number and special symbols rather than just using capitol and lower case english with numbers.
I tried to reference from this site (https://docs.ultimatemember.com/article/94-apply-custom-validation-to-a-field), but the code did not go through the validation properly. I’m using the 2.0.17 plug-in.
