custom post grid layout plugin

hi everybody,
for long time now, i am searching for a free custom post grid layout plugin.
i am not a professional in wordpress and i don’t know the right terminology for what i want. i have seen many websites with their posts in a grid layout like 1 big, 3 small, or 2 big, 3 small etc etc. so i would like to find a free plugin for that but … really free 🙂 i mean most “free” plugins i have found to do what i want, they just offer 1-2 custom layouts and then you have to buy the premium version to do everything.
of course if i could do that with gutenberg somehow, i would be happy to hear your opinion.
