Custom Post Type Author

I have a site that allows a custom user type to submit content via frontend forms – but it’s a slow process to get 400 people to submit new content.

In my custom post type I can change the author – but only to other admins. What do I need to do in order for me to create the content and then assign it to the custom user role?
